Football icons united for Game4Ukraine, aiding Ukraine's recovery.
In a historic display of solidarity, football icons including Andriy Shevchenko, Gerard Piqué, and Clarence Seedorf came together at Stamford Bridge for the much-anticipated Game4Ukraine. The event, held in support of the United24 initiative, aims to raise funds to help rebuild a school in Chernihiv, Ukraine.
Cheeer partnered with Game4Ukraine to create the ultimate virtual Fan Zone. This interactive experience allowed fans worldwide to engage innovatively with the event while contributing to the cause. From immersive games to designing custom NFT jerseys, supporters left their mark on both the game and the recovery effort.
Let's delve deeper into this remarkable collaboration, blending the worlds of sports, innovation, and goodwill.
The Game4Ukraine Virtual Fanzone & Gamification
As a proud partner of the event, Cheeer built an immersive virtual Fanzone that replicated the Stamford Bridge stadium within the Metaverse, allowing fans to be part of the event's journey before, during, and after the game.
The Game4Ukraine Virtual Fanzone wasn't just a virtual space; it was a hub of interaction and engagement that provided over 600 fans an avenue to explore and experience the event's excitement, connect with fellow football lovers, and participate in daily games. From August 1st to the after-party, fans were daily challenged to meet all the players within the Fanzone, run through the maze, answer trivia questions, and even battle Jens Lehmann in penalty shootouts. Among the participants who unlocked the winning codes, four lucky fans secured tickets to the match.
Leveraging NFTs & Empowering Donations
Central to this unique collaboration was the creation of 101 distinctive digital memorabilia — MO:ME:NT NFTs – honoring Game4Ukraine. First, we minted a pair of exclusive NFTs for each legendary player participating in the game. The players were gifted the NFTs, and the twins were auctioned for fans who wanted to own a legendary twin and contribute to the cause.
Additionally, the collaboration introduced a new way to donate: crafting personalized jersey NFTs for a $5 donation, all directed toward reconstructing Ukraine's infrastructure. Fans selected their team's jersey colour, customized it with their preferred numbers and names, and in return, obtained an exclusive NFT as a digital souvenir. The exciting part – fans who showcased their customized NFTs on Instagram were entered into a draw to win an official physical jersey autographed by the legends themselves.

These spaces not only redefined how fans experience the excitement of sporting events but also introduced possibilities through NFTs, transforming them into versatile digital keepsakes with added value.
In essence, this partnership served as a proof to Cheeer's dedication to harnessing the power of Web3 technologies. By seamlessly blending innovation with philanthropy, Cheeer demonstrated the potential to create fresh avenues for supporting and sustaining impactful causes.
The result was an immersive experience that not only brought fans closer to the game but also to the broader ideals of unity and positive change.
